Gracia "Billie" Potter
POTTER, Gracia (Billie)September 3, 1918 – June 21, 2015It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear Mother, Gracia (Billie) Potter in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late William James (Bill) Potter. Loving Mother of Joe (Muriel), Rick (Janice) of Kelowna, B.C., Penny Mitchell (Roger), Terry (Elizabeth) of High River, AB. Cherished Grandmother of 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her sister, Beatice Gordon of Huntsville, ON. Mom was a great inspiration to all of us with her positive, happy outlook on life. She was dedicated to her family, church and music. Swimming, walking and keeping physically fit were part of her daily routine.
For 25 years, she taught piano to many a child in Manor Park and Rockcliffe. She played the organ and led choirs with wonderful gusto at Wesley and MacKay United Churches in Ottawa. For years, she voluntarily played piano for sing songs at Island Lodge and Bradford House. Rarely relaxing, she would bring her talents to her cherished summer home in Muskoka and play the organ and sing for her beloved churches. A Memorial Service will be held on August 7, 2015 1 p.m. at Mckay United Church. Casual dress. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/ottawacitizen/obituary.aspx?pid=175164017#sthash.mh8RLMNp.dpufDoreen Cotterchio, January 3, 2015
